KATRIBU KALIPUNAN NG KATUTUBONG MAMAMAYAN NG PILIPINAS
Indigenous Peoples leaders and advocates established its precursor - KAMP, from a series of consultative assemblies from 1983 to 1987. They convened these to provide a forum to share and discuss the problems and experiences of Indigenous Peoples. In 2015, the KAMP third congress renamed itself KATRIBU Kalipunan ng Katutubong Mamamayan ng Pilipinas and formally instituted it as an alliance.

In March 2015, during the 4th National Congress, KAMP officially transformed into Katribu Kalipunan ng Katutubong Mamamayan ng Pilipinas or a National Alliance of Indigenous Peoples’ Organizations in the Philippines. This change aimed to foster greater identification among the Philippines’ IP (Katribu a Filipino term meaning a fellow tribe member) and facilitate recognition as an IP alliance by the general public.

The establishment of Katribu as a national campaign center signifies our commitment to championing the rights and aspirations of Indigenous Peoples. Through collective action, advocacy, and solidarity, we strive to create a more inclusive and equitable society where Indigenous communities thrive and their cultural heritage is celebrated and preserved for future generations.

VISION
In solidarity with other groups, to build a society where Indigenous Peoples (IP) are respected, empowered, and thriving in their ancestral lands, enriching their ways of life in harmony with the environment, enjoying fair political representation, cultural integrity, government support, equality, and peace.
